Enterprise 2.0 is the use of Web 2.0 within a company or organization to increase productive communication between employees while streamlining the efficiency of business processes. The role of social media tools in business has been increasing progressively and Enterprise 2.0 aims to ease connectivity between employees, customers, suppliers and other participants. This term was coined in 2006 by Harvard Professor Andrew McAfee.
Enterprise 2.0 is the next generation of collective development, enterprise content management and knowledge management. Business capabilities of Enterprise 2.0 include: Corporate blogging and wikis, internal idea-sharing platforms, and social networking tools.
