Yippy buys Clusty and rebrands
Yippy has bought consumer search tool, Clusty from Vivisimo for $5.5 million. Clusty was a consumer tool and as such didn't really fit with the rest of Vivisimo's enterprise focus. Yippy, which was formerly known as Cinnabar Ventures hopes to use the tool to launch a new consumer-focused search experience designed around the Clusty technology. The idea is to offer a safer Internet experience for children and educational institutions by providing a more defined set of results and activities all accessed within the Yippy cloud environment.
