Vasont released the interim version of Vasont ST2.1 July 25, the XML-based content management software often used by documentation professionals for repurposing content in multiple languages across many channels. Updates for both the on-premise perpetual license and the cloud-based software as a service models are now available.

The updates in ST2.1 are designed to improve productivity for content editors and project managers by focusing on versioning and workflow. The Version Compare feature now makes clearer the differences between two versions of content by using change bars and colored highlights to display changes, said the company in a press release.

The latest release also expands managerial privileges in active workflows and makes project search easier by sorting and filtering project-level and task-based information. Users can now collaborate with others directly from the annotations window in Vasont ST2.1.

While none of the updates in Vasont's latest version are flashy, these basic improvements to current functionality speak to the product's focus on efficiency. The updates will likely help current Vasont users better manage documents and reduce publishing mistakes, but likely won't be a huge draw for new customers.
