Upcoming book on document collaboration was written collaboratively, virtually

A new book due out in May, "Virtual Collaborative Writing in the Workplace: Computer-Mediated Communication Technologies and Processes," takes the subject of virtual collaboration a step further than what readers may expect. Not only does the book dive into the use of computer-mediated communication technologies--such as instant messaging, email, web-page interaction, webcasts and content management systems--to improve collaboration in writing projects, it was also written collaboratively through the use of Wikis and Google Docs. The book is edited by Beth L. Hewett, of University of Maryland University College, and Charlotte Robidoux, of Hewlett-Packard. Suzanne Mescan, VP of Marketing for Vasont Systems, a company best known for it's CMS tailored to documentation specialists, is a contributor. Press release
