Twitter trying to move beyond the 140 barrier

Offering in-tweet rich media and previews to media partners
Tools

Twitter announced last week that it was moving beyond the 140 characer barrier, at least a bit. It will now offer media partners including the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and Der Spiegel Online the ability to add rich media content, such as video in tweets. What's more, with some media properties, you will be able to see a preview with the headline, the introduction and sometimes the Twitter accounts of the publisher and writer. If you like what you see, you can click through to see the entire article as before. For more information, see the Twitter blog.
