Traction adds Blackberry Support to TeamPage 4.2

Enterprise 2.0, San Franscisco, was the place to be this week with lots of announcements coming from there including news from Traction Software about a new release of TeamPage 4.2. TeamPage is Traction's, Enterprise 2.0 collaboration platform that includes blogs, wikis, tagging and social networking capabilities.

The most interesting new feature is support for the Blackberry, which CEO Greg Lloyd has found was the phone of choice for many of his business customers. "We defined and developed these capabilities by collaborating with TeamPage customers in professional service firms who love their BlackBerry email as much as they love TeamPage in their browser. These new subscription features bring Enterprise 2.0 collaboration to the road warrior, making it easy to get a clean and simple summary including automatically generated context."

The new version also features subscriptions for following people in the enterprise, either in-house or on the road on the Blackberry and an entirely new underlying architecture which they say will form the basis for future upgrades including adding Attivio premium search.

TeamSite was one of the first companies to introduce blogging software for business. In fact, CEO Greg Lloyd recognized the power of business blogging long before most. I first met him back in 2003 at the first Business Blogging Conference in Boston (an event which stimulated me to start blogging). Lloyd was peddling Enterprise 2.0 type technology long before the term was ever coined.
