SpringCM boasts case management and shiny new iPad app
SpringCM announced last week they had come out with a new version of their cloud-based content management system, which includes case management capabilities, a new iPad app and new, simpler ways to move content through a company workflow.
Case management, as I wrote in this week's Editor's Corner, has become all the rage among content management vendors as each one struggles to prove that the underlying content management has value beyond moving bits and bytes, and supports actual business processes.
SpringCM has tried to make workflow easier in the latest version by providing a checklist metaphor, which allows people to build lists of tasks around a certain process very quickly. That means companies can build standard workflows for things like new-account openings very quickly.
Meanwhile, SpringCM also built an iPad app they say takes advantage of iOS to deliver content to workers on the go. What's more, it provides full text search via the iPad app to the entire enterprise content repository. That's a very powerful feature for mobile workers.
SpringCM CEO Chris Junker says the new system is about giving the content context and meaning. He added that the strategy centers on helping deliver content in the right place and the right context and he believes the new iPad app provides users with even more flexibility to use that content wherever they are.
