Google introduces Sidewiki
Google introduced a new feature this week called Google Sidewiki, which enables you, or visitors to your website, to annotate the content on the website in a wiki that sits adjacent to your web pages. Google suggests you or your users could use this to enhance content on your website. Social media analyst Jeremiah Owyang of the Altimeter Group believes this could revolutionize web pages by making them social. The flip side is that they could also become spam and garbage bins next to your website, forcing you to monitor them. It remains to be seen which of these scenarios, or some combination of them happens. Official Google Blog post and video.
