Socialtext 5.0 has native mobile apps
This week at the Enteprise 2.0 Conference in Santa Clara, Calif. Socialtext announced Socialtext 5.0 with some significant new features including support for mobile apps and native Twitter integration.
The mobile apps integration includes native applications for iPhone, iPad and Blackberry. Apparently there is no Android integration (at least not yet). Using these mobile apps, users can access their Socialtext content from an app anywhere from any supported device.
The Twitter integration is particularly interesting because Socialtext sees it as a way to monitor keywords, hash tags, brand mentions and so forth. It also continues use of Socialtext 360 (which was previously called Socialtext radar) as a way to find people with similar interests and discover information that might be of interest to you in a graphical view.
Socialtext CEO Eugene Lee said that there are further enhancements coming. "We've laid out a path with a proven adoption methodology and are continuing to extend the platform with innovative, enterprise class features, including groups and workspaces integration coming in Q1 2012," he said.
Socialtext 5.0 is scheduled to be available some time during the fourth quarter.
