So you just launched your website redesign...

You've spent hours--or paid someone to spend hours--updating your corporate image for your CMS-controlled site, building new templates, creating new graphics and proofing and re-proofing everything until your eyes bled. Everyone's exhausted. The site is up. Now you can all crash and hope that your cell phones don't ring because some critical site feature is broken.

But are you really done? Jeff Cram at Insight Design gave this question some serious thought, and his answers provide some useful suggestions on what permanent changes you need to consider after launch (i.e. have you just shifted new responsibilities onto people who are already overworked?), how to measure the success of your new site (i.e. create scorecards for tracking key performance indicator trends), and how to keep some of the momentum going (i.e. create style guides and document key processes) so that you're managing continued improvements.

It's worth a read if you've just finished re-doing your site, or are in the process of getting started. The more thought you put into these issues before lifting a finger the better off you'll be.
