RecMan adds Gmail to cloud records management suite
RecMan first introduced fundamental records management to Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) Docs. This week it announced a new extension to their product that provides the same type of records management for Gmail.
While many parts of the organization might be enthusiastically ready to embrace the cloud, records managers have lagged because of justifiable concerns about how to maintain cloud-based content in a traditional records management workflow that provides all the regulatory rigor they are looking for.
Richard Roberts, President and CEO of RecMan says that by using a tool like RecMan companies get the convenience of the cloud along with the record keeping functionality records managers demand. "RecMan for Gmail was developed to provide powerful document compliance and records management, without which millions may not be able to take full advantage of Gmail," he said.
The product acts as an overlay to Gmail where an administrator establishes policies and builds a classification system and users simply drag and drop mail into given folders where policies are applied automatically.
