QuarkXPress update enhances iPad publishing ability

Quark recently announced the availability of QuarkXPress 9.2, an interim update that includes a couple of interesting new features allowing designers to easily create enhanced iPad content and ePUB formatted eBooks.

Let's start with the new iPad features. The latest version includes a new template that's ready for the iPad Newsstand and also meets Apple's iCloud storage linking guidelines. What's more, designers now have control over how to display content and can take advantage of a new player with play, pause, stop and loop functionality.

Quark has also included the ability to create a print layout for a book, then export it to the ePUB eBook format. What's more, new features enable designers to take advantage of the eBook format by adding videos and hyperlinks, reorder components as needed and create a hierarchical table of contents.

With these features, QuarkXPress continues to evolve from a print layout program to a full-service digital content production tool.

The update is available for free for QuarkXPress 9.x owners. Quark is offering an upgrade from any previous version of QuarkXpress for $299.
