PerfectSearch debuts with fast disk-based federated search

PerfectSearch, a tool developed by some of the same developers that created WordPerfect for DOS back in the day, has announced a new enterprise search product that has been in development for the past three years. The company's patented disk-based Hyper-Federation is supposed to be the key differentiator, creating and storing a federated index on a hard drive, instead of in RAM, resulting in higher speeds. The suite of products has been designed to work across a variety of industry tools including IBM DB/2, Google Search Appliance, Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server. Press release
