Open Text releases semantic search tool based on Nstein technology

Last week at the Search Engine Strategies conference in San Francisco, Open Text announced the release of a new semantic navigation tool, based on Nstein technology. The new tool is designed to help users find their way around complex websites by trying to present content based on the visitor's interests. You may recall that Open Text purchased Nstein in February.

According to Open Text, the Open Text Content Analytics engine, as they are calling it, "intelligently extracts meaning, sentiment and context from content, and in turn marries that content to what a customer or prospect is looking for on a website." It's no secret that as the volume of content increases, search plays a more central role in helping visitors find the most relevant information. Semantic search takes that a step further by trying to understand the visitor and present only the most relevant content.

James Latham, Chief Marketing Officer at Open Text says building better ways for visitors to find content is becoming increasingly critical. "The volume and diversity of content continues to grow much faster than organizations can efficiently manage, meaning that the true potential of that content to boost audience engagement is never realized." He adds, "We believe semantic and content analysis technology holds significant promise for helping organizations change this equation."

Open Text plans to offer an installed and a cloud-based version. Pricing for the cloud version is $3000 per month plus a one-time $10,000 setup fee.
