Open source CMS market share report released
Peter Hagopian discusses a recently released report on open source content management in his InformationWeek Content Management blog this week. The post looks at a report from open source CMS consultants Water and Stone, which takes a fairly comprehensive look at open source content management solutions. As Hagopian points out, it's not surprising that the top three open source CMS vendors are WordPress, Joomla! and Drupal. The report is well worth reading, especially since it's available for free. One thing to keep in mind is that it seems to mix blogging platforms, web content management and Wikis as though they were equal, when in fact, they have very different purposes. Still, if you're looking at open source content management solutions, this report certainly provides a good starting point.
