Nuxeo announces correspondence management app

Nuxeo, which just announced its Case Management Framework a month ago, is announcing on July 22 its Nuxeo Correspondence Management application, which is based on that software.

The product will be available from the company as a free, open-source download--although, the company will be selling support for the product. According to the company, it is intended for organizations such as government agencies and regulated industries that have time-sensitive mandates to respond to public inquiries, and must comply with legislation and regulations regarding disclosure, freedom of information, and incident reporting.

The software automates tracking of incoming correspondence, and supports multiple formats, including fax, email, web forms, social media and paper. The software streamlines intake, routes tasks, provides audit trails and search-and-retrieval, and in general helps companies meet mandated turnaround times, the company said. The application is intended to spotlight Nuxeo Case Management Framework by showing how quickly it lets users develop application templates with it.

In late June, Nuxeo received $3.3 million in funding from OTC Asset Management, which started out giving the company $2.6 million in December 2008, wrote Irina Guseva in CMSwire. She also said she expected the company to continue its expansion into North America, with possibly an initial public offering or an acquisition in its future.

Nuxeo's Correspondence Management application runs on Windows 2003+, Mac OS X, Unix or Linux. For Windows, a 64 bit server is recommended. Nuxeo ECM products also support virtual environments.
