Nuance acquires Equitrac; gets intelligent print management
Last week, Nuance announced that it intends to buy intelligent print management vendor Equitrac.
Nuance sees this purchase as a way to enhance its standing with multi-function printer partners including Canon, Xerox, Konica Minolta, Ricoh and HP.
The beauty of this purchase is that these partners are selling Equitrac solutions along side Nuance eCopy scanning solutions today. As such the deal makes a ton of sense for Nuance to expand into the print management area with companies it is working with already.
Robert Weideman, senior vice president and general manager of the Nuance Document Imaging Division said in a statement that the companies match up very well. "Equitrac expands our ability to provide our customers and MFP partners with solutions that deliver even higher levels of cost savings and office productivity."
Weideman also pointed out that this deal gives Nuance access to several vertical markets including finance, legal, education, government and healthcare.
As Michael Rich, president and CEO, Equitrac Corporation points out, it's a deal that works out well for both companies. "From day one, the combination of Nuance and Equitrac delivers the best of scanning and best of print management to our customers and partners worldwide," he said in a statement.
