KnowledgeTree keeps rolling with private cloud edition
KnowledgeTree has been busy this year and it's not letting up. This week it announced a new private cloud deployment that can be run on- or off-premises.
The product builds on the desktop version announced earlier this month with an HTML5 interface. Peter Mollins, senior director of product marketing at KnowledgTree says this is a smart approach for many organizations looking for agility and security.
"The on-premise edition was installed as a software stack onto Windows or Linux operating systems. In contrast, the Private Cloud edition is the functionality and (fundamentally) the architecture of our Public Cloud edition, albeit scaled down to single-tenant. That means that customers can install a VM on popular hypervisors and be up-and-running in minutes," Mollins explained.
Among the advantages KnowledgeTree sees with this approach is a fast deployment and the ability to scale up or down as needed, as only virtualization can do.
KnowledgeTree is offering customers a 14-day, free trial of the new private cloud edition to take it for a test drive.
