IDC: Content management vendors can count on Asian investment

Content management vendors have a bright future ahead of them, if enterprises in the Far East have anything to do with it. Asian-based companies are looking to put more money behind document management, according to recent research by IDC.

The report, "Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) content management pulse check, adoption drivers, and barriers in 2009: What are buyers prioritizing?", found that record management software is the next priority for companies in this region. The research firm expects CM market in the region to grow steadily at a five-year compound annual growth rate of almost 7.5 percent. At this rate, this market will reach $308.42 million by 2013, reports Computerworld.

IDC reports that enterprises in India and China plan to increase their spending in the next 18 months. IBM, EMC, HP, Oracle and Interwoven are the leaders in the Asian CM market.
