Globalization causes jitters in many languages

The latest report from Gilbane, released last week, takes on the topic of content globalization. It is an especially thorny issue for many organizations, as globalization often means multilingual communications. Gilbane cites that 92 percent of the respondents to its study report being concerned about the risks of not improving the content globalization process within their organizations.

Key challenges facing organizations in the globalization process include: gaps between strategic business goals and investments in multi-lingual communications; difficulties in balancing centralized and regional operations; and lack of integration and interoperability across authoring, content management, localization/translation management, and publishing components. Naturally, Gilbane provides first-hand accounts of how industry leaders are responding to these problems, and offers a few best practices of its own. The report is available at gilbane.com.
