Forrester study predicts big growth in information management

Forrester research conducted a survey of information management (IM) software and service providers in order to assess the size of the IM market. The results of the survey suggest that the market is growing at a significant rate. Forrester predicts that the global information services market will grow from its current value of $7.9 billion to $10.9 billion in 2012. Business intelligence and business performance solutions will account for the lion's share of this uptick, the survey suggests, and the information strategy segment will see the most rapid growth. Forrester also posits that 2009 could be the year when enterprise content management finally lives up to its high expectations as portals continue to gain traction as ad hoc ECM solutions.
