New website provides social media overview for business

A new website, The Social Media Guide, attempts to be a one-stop shop for companies looking to learn about how to incorporate social media in their organizations. The site is designed to arm you with information about social media.

It includes:

  • Case studies organized by market type such as media organizations, non-profits and trade associations (which appear to be its targets right now).
  • An FAQ with questions designed to help you understand social media better.
  • A glossary of terms to get you up to speed on the lingo.
  • Links to other interesting social media content on the web.
  • Articles.

Note that the site is sponsored by a social media company, The Port, but it still has lots of good content. If you are at the beginning of your social media education, it could provide you with some good information about what social media is and why it's important for you to know all about it.

This is good resource for those wish to get the basics and get a grasp of Social Media and good practise. But with so many other sites dealing with providing training and social media/ web2.0 solutions for business.

It will be a case of how well can it market itself to and monetize it's audience.

Yours,
