FierceContentManagement puts on DITA webinar
Pardon us for tooting our own horn here, but we are putting on a webinar on Thursday June 11th at 2:00 pm ET called Using DITA to Streamline Your Workflow. The webinar is sponsored by Just Systems and features Gilbane Group analysts and DITA experts, Bill Trippe and Dale Waldt. I will be hosting.
We are putting on this webinar because of the increasing interest in XML as a content delivery format. It offers a lot of advantages including the ability to chunk content into meaningful, reusable pieces that you can repurpose across different publishing venues. For instance, you might have a content description that would work for several manuals and several webpages. There can be tremendous efficiency in this approach when it's done right.
The problem is that it's not a simple proposition to set up a system like this. It takes time, patience, effort and a willingness to be in it for the long haul, but if it succeeds it can make publishing a much more streamlined, effective and cheaper system.
Our webinar will look at the pros and cons of this approach and provide you with a real-world case study of it in action. You will have the opportunity to ask Bill and Dale questions after the presentations.
