eZ Publish announced the release of its latest enterprise version, eZ Enterprise Edition 4.4, this week.

eZ Publish is an open source web content management project. It includes a free community edition and a pay enterprise one. The pay version offers support and some additional features not available in the free version.

This update includes image editing capability directly in eZ publish along with support for HTML 5 video. What's more, the latest version boasts an improved administrative interface, that eZ claims makes it simpler and more efficient to peruse a large content store.

What's more, administrators will like the improved integration with the eZ Services Portal for easy access to updates and maintenance information. In 4.4 administrators can access the Services Portal from a tab in the administrative interface.

eZ also announced a new newsletter module, developed with the help of eZ community members. The new feature provides an easy way to develop email newsletters from inside the eZ Publish interface. eZ says is should be available shortly after the release of 4.4.
