Enterprise 2.0 Boston Datebook
Enterprise 2.0, Boston starts on Monday, June 14th. The conference has been growing every year and there's always so much to see, so here are some highlights.
Monday, June 14th
The show kicks off on Monday with a series of workshops, but my favorite first-day event happens late afternoon, early evening with "The Evening in the Cloud." Moderated by TechWeb Chief Content Officer, David Berlind, it always includes a lively discussion on cloud computing issues. This year's show is a little different. It starts with with a market overview by Berlind, followed by a demo from IBM executive Sean Pooley, then a CXO panel discussion, and finally the (all important) cocktail reception (which includes demos by several vendors).
Tuesday, June 15th
Tuesday begins with a series of keynotes, but the one you absolutely should see is Andrew McAfee's "State of Enterprise 2.0" at 11:10. McAfee is an MIT professor who coined the term Enterprise 2.0 and has written the book, Enterprise 2.0: New Collaborative Tools for Your Toughest Challenges.
Don't forget to set aside some time and walk the Expo floor where vendors will be available to talk about their products. The Expo floor is open from Noon-6:00.
Take some time to socialize at the Cocktail Reception sponsored by Microsoft from 4:30-6:00 and/or the Attendee Party sponsored by IBM from 7:30-10:00.
Wednesday, June 16th
Be sure to see the keynote from Christian Finn of Microsoft at 9:05. Finn will speak about "Becoming a Connected Enterprise: The Seven Essential Truths Microsoft has Discovered So Far."
Then stick around for Eugene Lee of Socialtext at 10:40, who will discuss Business Value is Everything.
If you're worried about standards, see the "Expert Panel on Standards" at 2:15 lead by analyst Mike Gotta and featuring Laurence Hart of Washington Consulting, Greg Lloyd, president of Traction Software, Matt Wilkenson, VP of Products at Socialcast and Jonathan Nolan, Director of Developer Relations at Atalasian.
Thursday, June 17th
For a real-world look at Enterprise 2.0 implementation, see "Three Case Studies That Make The Business Case" at 8:30.
The conference closes with a Town Hall discussion at Noon.
