Day sells marketing company to concentrate on content management
Day Software has sold its UK-based agency services subsidiary MarketingNet Ltd, to WAA. Day says it did this because it wanted to concentrate fully on its core content management business in England. This approach makes sense to me, since Day is not in the business of marketing and it doesn't really relate to what they do in content management.
Day president, Erik Hansen feels as though it's a win-win situation for both WAA and his company. "As the agency services business is not part of our core business, we are delighted that we have been able to complete the sale of MarketingNet Ltd to WAA Ltd as this ensures a good future for MarketingNet’s customers as well as ensures that as many staff of MarketingNet as possible have been able to keep in employment.”
As CMS Wire reports, this has absolutely no impact on Day's CMS customers since this was a legacy purchase completely separate from its CMS business. While purchases that enhance a company's core offering can provide existing customers with additional services and increase sales, in this case, the subsidiary is really unrelated. Selling is a good move.
