CoreMedia announces partnership with SAP

Seems everybody likes to partner with SAP. They don't tend to make a lot of acquisitions and seem to prefer the partner route. So it's probably not surprising that web content management vendor CoreMedia recently announced a partnership with SAP to manage content inside SAP's NetWeaver Portal solution.

CoreMedia CMS for SAP NetWeaver Portal provides content creation tools non-technical users to publish content to the portal more easily. The tools include user-friendly editing, simpler portal navigation and content reuse across multiple pages.

One of the concerns about portal implementation is that content can quickly grow stale after the initial implementation and seeding by developers. By combining the popular portal software with web content management software, CoreMedia believes it will offer a way to refresh stale SAP portals with newer content produced with CoreMedia tools. They believe by making it easier to produce content in a tool integrated with the SAP solution, they can increase portal adoption.

CoreMedia uses an open architecture that encourages implementations such as this. In fact, they claim their Content Applications Engine can integrate easily with a variety of enterprise software beyond ERP offerings such as SAP.
