Content Group aims to create ECM standards

Designing an effective plan for enterprise content management (ECM) is no easy task. The Content Group, a UK-based ECM consultancy, is trying to promote the notion that the first step in this direction is to define exactly what a good ECM strategy should be. The company is working with BSI British Standards to develop a best practice standard for ECM, which would establish a frame of reference for the entire ECM market. Providing a common understanding of ECM has been a priority--or at least an ideal--of the information management industry since the term came into use at the beginning of the decade. The Content Group's Publicly Available Specification (PAS) will address the "nine critical elements" of ECM assessment: create, capture, management, process, collaboration, distribution, publishing, reporting and storage. When completed, the PAS would serve as a roadmap to help organizations understand what ECM is, what it can do, and how to measure its quality.

I am very interested to know and learn more about your approach. I would possibly be interested in participating. Question: how would/will this compliment other international standards works from groups such as AIIM and ISO?
