ClearStory sold to The FeedRoom
Although some may see a large-scale acquisition during an economic downturn as risky, The FeedRoom, a SaaS company that publishes and stores online video content, thinks a new partnership makes sense. The company, which boasts such clients as Barnes & Noble, ESPN, Hewlett-Packard, Intel and McGraw-Hill, has acquired ClearStory Systems, a digital marketing software provider. According to eContentmag.com, video asset management is more than simply housing content online,; it's managing publishing processes, automating workflows and integrating a variety of different types of media content, including video.
Bill Sheeran, director of product management and marketing for ClearStory, told eContentmag.com, "ClearStory has long been a disciplined, efficient software development company, but was not as robust in delivering professional services and custom solutions. They've worked with many third party partners to deliver those extended services to their customers. The FeedRoom, on the other hand, focuses on services and deploying their customers in a tailored fashion, having a strong professional services practice. Though they've had very good software; they saw distinct advantages with ClearStory's robust software development organization."
According to ClearStory, the market has been taking off. If the newly formed company is able to leverage each entity's expertise properly and integrate platforms, especially the web-flow automation, they will likely see early success.
