Cisco Quad could give SharePoint a run for its money

Even while Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) is rolling out SharePoint 2010 this week, Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) released its own collaboration suite last year called Quad. From Cisco's perspective, companies want Enterprise 2.0 collaboration tools and Quad provides them. But being a network company, Cisco feels it's uniquely positioned to deal with network and security issues, which are concerns for companies introducing this kind of software for the first time.
