As we look back on 2009, one feature we developed this year, of which I'm very proud, is our "One on One" series. We interviewed an industry luminary for each post and a quick scroll down the page of One on One interviews shows an impressive list of industry names, across the broad spectrum of our coverage areas. At its best the series captures the interviewee's depth of knowledge. We got some great names involved this year, but for this exercise, I'm going to choose my five favorites.

Andrew McAfee
McAfee is an accomplished speaker, author and Enterprise 2.0 expert, who was credited with coining the term Enterprise 2.0, and I was thrilled when he agreed to participate. We were fortunate to publish this interview just ahead of the publication of his new book: Enterprise 2.0: New Collaborative Tools for Your Organization's Toughest Challenges.

Chris Brogan
This was another coup. Brogan agreed to do a One on One right around the release of his new book, Trust Agents. Brogan is a recognized expert in using social networking tools like Twitter and blogs in a business setting and I was thrilled to include him in our series. He also introduced the idea of a shorter answer format that we have since encouraged participants to use.

Arpan Shah
When you cover content management for a living, you realize that for better or worse, SharePoint is a force in this space and it was great to get Shah's perspective. It has proven one of our most popular One on Ones since we began the series.

Lisa Welchman
Welchman is an industry expert and her clear answers demonstrated her obvious knowledge and understanding of web content management issues, especially around larger websites. It was a great interview.

Ric Shreves
Shreves works at Water & Stone, a consulting firm specializing in open source solutions. I was pleased to get his perspective as a consultant with a broader view of the open source content management space and he gave some great answers about the pros and cons of open source solutions.

Honorable mentions go to: Kathleen Reidy and Daniel Tunkelang.

Earlier this year we published a free eBook with a collection of some of these interviews. Please check it out and let us know what you think.
