Attivio unveils version 1.2 of Active Intelligence Engine

Attivio, the Fast offshoot software company that came onto the scene at the beginning of this year, announced last week the release of version 1.2 of its Active Intelligence Engine (AIE). The launch aims to position the product for the direct enterprise market. (Version 1 was only available as an embedded product.) The upgrade contains several revised and updated features, including improved performance and scalability, and full connectivity and language support. Additionally, AIE 1.2 features “query-side JOIN” capability. Attivio has applied for a patent for the technology, which makes use of a SQL command that correlates data from multiple tables. The capability in AIE extends the JOIN command to unstructured content, and can be employed on-the-fly at query time. Attivio CEO Ali Riaz told Infotoday.com’s Paula Hane that the company is “extremely excited to present a Unified Information Access platform that is truly sophisticated in its capabilities, yet easy to install, manage, and scale.”
