Alfresco ships language packs
While you were celebrating the holidays, Alfresco shipped some new user interface language packs aimed at Alfresco user's most popular non-English languages. The new languages include: French, German, European Spanish, Italian and Japanese.
In a world where it is increasingly important to localize content, having your CMS support multiple languages is becoming a must for content management systems, a point that Denis Dorval, VP of Sales at Alfresco drove home. "More than half of Alfresco's customers are based in non-English speaking countries, with our largest base of partners, customers and community members located in France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Japan, so we are responding to the needs of our global users."
Dorval explained that this was part of the company's overall international strategy. "Our strategy of investing in a structured localization process for Alfresco, using a leading localization vendor, will play a key role in supporting our international customer base," he said.
The language packs are available for download now at the Alfresco website, but the plan is to build them into Alfresco Community 3.4 sometime early this year.
