This week, Lucid Imagination--a company that has to be an early nominee for the best company name of the year--launched as the first commercial company to support Apache Lucene/Solr Open Source enterprise search technology. This is significant because although Lucene has been out for years, it has surprisingly never had a commercial venture backing it for customization and support services.
