"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1" Selling Out More Than 2,500 Showtimes on Fandango, Representing 93% of Today's Ticket

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1," which opens Thursday night at midnight, has already sold out out more than 2,500 showtimes on Fandango, the nation’s leading moviegoer destination. Theaters owners are reporting sold-out showtimes across the country, from Kahului, Hawaii to Augusta, Maine, while posting additional showtimes to meet the fan demand.

“Breaking Dawn, Part 1” currently represents 93% of today’s ticket sales. According to a Fandango survey of several thousand “Breaking Dawn, Part 1” ticket-buyers:

  • 87% have read the book;
  • 61% of those who have read “Breaking Dawn” say it’s their favorite book of the series;
  • 72% would like to visit the “Breaking Dawn” filming locations in Louisiana;
  • 47% plan to see the movie as part of a group of friends.
